What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is the second most frequent cause of lung cancer. Formed from decaying Uranium, Radon concentration can differ widely from place to place and can increase in concentration in areas of low ventilation, such as houses.

Why Should I Test My Home?

If you live in a home with high radon levels, you increase your risk of developing lung cancer. Having your home tested is the only effective way to determine whether you and your family are at risk of high radon exposure. If you are selling your home, a radon test will most likely be required as part of the real estate transaction.

How Does Radon Mitigation Work?

Radon mitigation reduces the radon concentrate in your home by increasing the ventilation under your home's foundation. A radon system is installed that vents the air from under the foundation, out into the environment where it is harmlessly dissipated. Many systems are installed externally and some can also be installed internally, within the walls of your home.
